ABSTRACT
This digital essay aims to promote a slideshare becoming a considerable mean for learning English as foreign language skills, which are reading, writing, speaking and listening skill; and the other aim is to know how to assess those language skills when the teachers infuse this application to the classroom. This hypotheses attempts create effective learning environment base on five principles that suggested by Erben. To make clear in promoting slideshare application, the writer tries to figure out how to apply Slideshare application in teaching learning environment followed by how to assess them. The assessment also bases on what Erben have explained in his book, which are performer based assessment, project based assessment and e-portofolio. In this essay the writer only chooses one kind of assessments which more suitable for the material. Furthermore, teachers can create their own assessment as creactive and effective as possible.

Keywords: infusing technology, slideshare, assessment
Introduction

This twenty century is well- known as digital era. Digital has become our daily need. We can see in the business area, for example, many products have been promoted by online such in toko pedia, buka lapak, blibli and so on. On the education view, the teachers also have to know how to infuse technology in their learning process. For Example they have to teach students with podcast, Youtube, Slide share and so forth. Now I would like to give a big ficture about slideshare. So the teacher  knows better how to teach “digital students” use this application.
Based on Erben, there are five principles for creating effective forenge language learning environments. They are:

1.Give ELLs many opportunities to read, to write, to listen to, and to discuss oral and written
English texts expressed in a variety of ways.
2. Draw attention to patterns of English language structure.
3. Give ELLs classroom time to use their English productively.
make a movie, serializing audio and video podcasts, and creating blog sites.
4. Give ELLs opportunities to notice their errors and to correct their English
5. Construct activities that maximize opportunities for ELLs to interact with others in English.

Bacon and Curtain stated that the goals of foreign language instruction include interacting with native speakers in a new language and developing a sensitivity to other cul-tures and a better understanding of the world.  this also can be a consideration when infuse technology to the classroom.

According to those principles, I recommend to the teacher to use slideshare application. Slideshare is a Web 2.0 based slide hosting service. Therefore, users can upload files privately or publicly in the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or Open Document presentations. A question raised, why we use slide share to teach the students? First, it is paperless aplication. Second, it is easy to contribute the materials. Third, SlideShare also was voted among the World's Top 10 tools for education & e-learning in 2010. The last and the more important it can answer the all five principles and two consideration above.

Infusing Slideshare Application and How to Assess it

Let us go further knowing the steps for applying slideshare. According to Tony Erben, he divides the sequence into: know the students, choose the material, applying the idea in infusing slideshare, and assess the result.

Teaching Reading
Following Erben suggestion, he illustrates the steps of implementation: First, the students are intermediate level in senior high school. Second, the material is Narrative Story under the tittle “Propet Muhammad”. Third, the teacher gives a handout for every student about Sirah Nabawi in English. This activity spends a half of allocated time. Next, the teacher asks students to make a cartoon of Propet Muhammad summary and to upload it into slideshare. Finally, the teacher assesses the student use e-quizzes to check students’ understanding.

Teaching Writing
Following Erben suggestion, he illustrates the steps of implementation: First, the students are first grade in English Letter Department. Second, the material is about writing traditional poetry. Third, the teacher gives an explanation about traditional poetry and the teacher explains how to create it. The last hour the teacher asks students to create theirselves chain poetries and publish it into slide share. Finally, the assessment uses performer assessment. This assessment allows students to perform the poetry in front of the class.

Teaching Speaking
Following Erben suggestion, he illustrates the steps of implementation: first, the students are second grade in Business class. Second, the material is Prosedure text. Third, the teacher gives an explanation about prosedure text. Next he/she asks the student to make a prosedure text in using a kind of technology. Every student can choose the technology differently. Then, the result should be published into slideshare. Finally, the assessment uses e-rubric. The teacher gives some rubrics about what is a good presentation. For example, good presentation used  pictures, graphic to illustrate and used appropriate font size.

Teaching Listening
Following Erben suggestion, he illustrates the steps of implementation: first, students are first grade in junior high school. Second, the material is narrative text untitled “ Holiday in California”. Third, the teacher uses slideshare to play a video about material. The teacher then gives every student a handout of fill in the blank test. The students should fill the blanks with a word that they hear. Finally the assessment uses traditional objective scoring which defines as: ”One score for correct answer and 0 score for incorrect one”.

Conclusion
As a teacher we have to creative use a number of technologies to teach in te class. Slideshare is one of any applications that applicatible used in teaching and learning English. Slideshare also promote a fun and creative learning environment that can be one of refferences in teaching. It also make the lesson/activity be engaging for students as well as productive.
